Question 1: ------------
Question 2: Consider how they've used colour, technical codes, how they contribute meaning
Question 3: Consider narrative theories. Why these actors/settings?
Question 4: Consider why some of these conventions link to the ideas you've mentioned. think about elements of design such as colour and layout too.
Question 5: ------------
Question 6: ------------
Question 7: Star power, franchise links, covid limits.

2) Look at the mark scheme for this assessment. For Question 2 (12 mark unseen) use the indicative content in the mark scheme to identify three points that you could have referred to in your answer.

-Athletic body connotes that the subject is in condition and well prepared for the
‘battle’.
-The text is positioned over the top of the tyre to signify the challenge and create
synergy between the image and the message in the text.
-Long shot shows the whole power of the body and the effort involved in pushing the
tyre.

3) For Question 3 (Galaxy - narrative features) use the mark scheme to write down the main narrative theories and how we can link them to the Galaxy advert CSP.

-Galaxy is a more sophisticated, classier product than
other chocolate bars and, as such, needs time and relaxation for it to be enjoyed
properly. The audience can also experience this luxury and a happier time
(nostalgia) if they buy the product.

4) Now look at Question 4 - Tatler and social/cultural contexts. Use the mark scheme to identify three points you could have made in your answer here.

-Serif font for title connotes formality, high class and how well established the magazine is (Britain’s oldest magazine).
-Cover image reflects British culture’s interest in stately homes and high society events with Weymouth dressed in a ballgown in the gardens of her Longleat house.
-‘Blond Ambition’ shows link to Prime Minister Boris Johnson (interview with his brother). Reflects Tatler’s focus on power and influence in Britain. This is also seen in cover line ‘Inside the new British establishment’.

5) On Section B, focus on Question 7 - film industry and Black Widow. Use the mark scheme to identify three ways Black Widow was marketed to its audience.

-The use of trailers, teasers and social media to build up excitement and word-of-
mouth long before release.
-
Star Power: most big-budget mainstream films and blockbusters will use Star Power
to attract audiences to their film. The main star in Black Widow is Scarlett Johansson
who is very well known and has established fans.
-Section of the Marvel website with gallery, story synopsis, character posters and opportunities to buy or stream the movie.

6) Finally, write down three things you are going to work on before your next mock exam in December (e.g. time management; revising CSPs etc.)

-Writing more detailed answers
-revison
-practice exam skills

real statement of intent

In my music video that I am making I intend to raise awareness for the many people around the world struggle from multiple sclerosis and not many young people know of it. So, my intention with this music video is to use the song ‘People help people’ by Birdy. In the song the artist speaks about helping people which is the kind of message I want to put across with my video to raise awareness for what life is like not only just for someone with MS but what caring for them involves. My video will follow the journey of a woman in her 30s who has struggled with MS since the age of 16. It will highlight how important social interaction is for someone like her but also how important down time is. By the end of the video, I want young people to volunteer at MS therapy centres but also to see disabled people as normal people.

In my music video there will be a range of camera shots but the main three will include: medium close-up, over the shoulder and long shot. By using a medium close-up, the audience will see the reactions of my main character and her facial expressions. An over the shoulder shot will show what my main character is seeing and their facial expressions, finally the long shot will show my main character being pushed in her wheelchair which will communicate the help that she needs.

My music video will attract an audience of young careers, young people who enjoy helping others. At the beginning of my music video, there’ll be a series of statistics that show the exact number of people who’re affected by MS daily, it will act as a wake-up call to people who ignore people who struggle with disabilities.
