Preliminary Exercise 2025 - Music Videos

 Initial Tasks: planning

1) Write a 100 word statement of intent explaining what you are going to make for your preliminary exercise.

I plan to make a 30-40 second music video about a woman who struggles with a chronic autoimmune disease called Multiple Sclerosis which is often referred to as MS. Unlike other diseases, MS is not well known so my goal is to raise awareness and encourage people to volunteer at MS therapy centres and help people who are disabled.

The beginning of the music video will have a 5 second view of the sign that says "MS therapy centre" and it will move on to a clip of two young ladies stretching the woman's arms. My main character will be sitting in a wheelchair. The music video will take place over a couple of days. The song i've chosen is "people help the people" by an artist named Birdy. The actors in my music video will be of different race and ethnicity however the majority will be female.

 Script:

-at the beginning the therapy centre will be introduced with a clip of the sign. The camera will shift focus to the main character being rolled out of a bus by a man who works with a company called plus bus.

-the camera will follow the woman into the therapy centre where you will see her meet her friends which will be followed by a clip of them talking to hopefully give the message that they are normal people and that their illness doesn't define them.

-there will be a couple of clips of the woman having her arms stretched and laughing with her physiotherapists

-the rest of the video will follow her journey home and what life at home is like for her. It'll show her careers and her kids helping her as part of her everyday life.

Casting:

physiotherapists: Natasha, apecsha
bus man: Barry
kids: me, my sister and brother.
